The perceived surface quality of a work of art.
What is a vanishing point?
the point at which something that has been growing smaller or increasingly faint disappears altogether.
How thick should ceramics be to keep from being too thin and breaking?
1/4-1/2 inch thick.
What is a core shadow? What is a cast shadow? (Must answer both correctly)
Core shadow: Shadow that is on the object
Cast shadow: Shadow that is reflected by the object
What is an organic shape?
A shape that you would commonly see in nature. No calculation usually.
How did we get the texture of dragon scales in the animal eye project?
We used baby oil to smooth out the oil pastel and make the scales look smooth.

How do you glaze air-dry clay? What does glaze do?
You paint it with acrylic paint and then add a layer of mod podge. It protects the clay from getting warped by water and keeps the paint from peeling.
How do you use a value scale?
You create a bar of 5 different values, then you match the values to the object you're trying to draw.

We had to ensure our proportions were accurate so that the form was convincing.
How do you create accurate form for furniture that recedes toward the back of the room?
Use orthogonal lines and point all of the lines toward the vanishing point.
What is the correct process for attaching protruding items to a ceramic vessel? (Like a head and legs to a pinch pot)
Score the area first, then wet it with water, and attach. Afterward, create a coil and smooth it into the edges of the attachment and the vessel.
