What would I do if his writing was so light I could barely read it?  Allow him time to build up his hand strength with small manipulatives' and playdough. Also have him use a shorter pencil at times and tried using a weighted pencil to see if that helps.

Consult with the OT in your building. They have lots of tools. They will try and help. If they don't try and help, ask me.
