Temp 98.6, HR 88, WBC 6, No infection suspected. Do you call an alert?
What is NO?
This RR meets criteria.
What us RR > 20
Chemo patient with fever but no diagnosis yet- does it count?
What is YES?
Labs that are included in the sepsis bundle.
What is Lactate, Blood Cultures x2?
This WBC value is abnormal and may indicate sepsis.
What is WBC >12 OR <4?
Patient has new confusion and HR 102, but no clear diagnosis yet. Could this count as suspected infection?
What is YES?
STAT antimicrobials should be initiated within this amount of time.
What is 30 minutes?
You need this many abnormal finding WITH infection suspected.
What is 2?
This type of patient may not show typical signs but is high risk.
Neutropenic patient
Do not delay antimicrobials if there is more than 45-minute delay in these labs.
