If an appointment is not available within the disposition timeframe, provide the patient with recommendations for the next appropriate level of care.  

If the patient calls after hours, instruct the patient to call the Behavioral Health Scheduling Line during business hours and instruct the patient on the next level of care to seek if an appointment is not available, within the disposition time frame.

The nurse must note the spelling of the last name of the cardiologist the patient sees, go to the EPIC ON Call Provider Team search box using the format: SLM CAR (Clinician's Last Name). Select the appropriate department and page the clinician listed as on call.
