Shannon loves to sing, and this was apparent when she used this music element, a style of vocal music in which a consonant note or notes are simultaneously sung as a main melody in a predominantly homophonic texture, in singing, "Lost All My Money" with her SFU colleagues.

This type of space is all the space around you, which you can travel through in your bubble. Establishing an understanding of it helps children, and the ever awkward Shannon, to create and gain control over their bodies and not bump into each other.

Shannon fell off this mountain and was on crutches for the better half of our Visual Art course, but this did not prevent her from coming to class each day. In fact, Tyler suggested that she turn her crutch into an art project by painting it. The power of art to uplift!

This book explores the story of an animal who'd love to dance, but whose legs don't seem to allow him to. After getting encouragement from a friend, like Shannon received throughout the Movement course, this animal found the courage to dance in his own way.

I believe that student self-assessment is a powerful tool often overlooked in art teaching. I also believe in the necessity of students defending their artwork. I argue that when teachers arbitrarily assign grades for neatness or following directions in art making, it stifles the creative process. Having now reflected on this, I am better able to understand myself as growing professional. This has inspired my final field study on assessment, covering this capacity.
