How does your muscles get bigger when you exercise?

You make mini-tears when you exercise and then muscle gets filled in to fix the tears.  This creates more/bigger muscles!

When you exercise, your heart rate increases.  Why?

When you exercise, you use up nutrients (and oxygen), so you need to get more nutrients (and oxygen) to your body faster, so heart rate increases to pump blood faster.

Explain how we breathe in and out

Breathe in: the diaphragm moves down and out, which makes lower air pressure, so air rushes in

Breathe out: the diaphragm moves up and in, which makes higher air pressure, so air rushes out
