A character who remains the same throughout the story.
What is a static character?

What is the climax?
This is the term for the character or voice from whose point of view the story is told.
What is the narrator?
A character struggling with depression.
What is internal conflict? (Person vs. self)
This is the term for a story's main idea or message.
What is a theme?
A character with only one defining trait -- no depth!
What is a flat character?
Once upon a time, a young girl lived on a small farm in the countryside, with her mother, brother, and two sisters.
What is exposition?
This point of view is told by a voice outside the story (not one of the characters).
What is third person point of view?
A character trapped on a mountain during an avalanche.
What is person vs. nature?
You might not notice this hint at a later event... unless you're reading closely.
What is foreshadowing?
The character or force that opposes the protagonist.
What is the antagonist?
A story's plot is usually propelled forward by this problem or struggle that the characters must try to overcome or solve.

A character who changes significantly over the course of the story.
