What is the plot?

What is the narrator?
the narrator tells what's going on in the story but never provides any of the characters' thoughts

the turning point of the plot
What is the climax?
hints about what is to come in a story
What is foreshadowing?
time, place and circumstances in which the story or event takes place
What is the setting?
This describes a character who doesn't seem very realistic because he/she has only one or two personality traits.
What is flat?
the narrator uses "I" because he/she is one of the characters in the story
What is first person point of view?
a feeling of excitement and curiosity created by the writing
What is suspense?
an episode in a story, which goes back to an earlier time
What is a flashback?
the struggle between opposing forces such as man vs. man or man vs. nature
What is external conflict?
the character around whom the action revolves. His or her appearance, background, feelings and thoughts are all described in detail
What is the protagonist?
the main idea, moral or message of a text, also known as the central insight
What is theme?
grabs the reader's attention and creates suspense as the main character's problem begins to unfold
What is rising action?
the author or narrator's attitude toward the subject, story, or characters
What is tone?
a character struggling with a decision or his/her own feelings
What is internal conflict?
a personality quality; how a character behaves
What is a character trait?
the narrator tells the story as he, she, or they, but includes the thoughts of one character.
What is third person limited point of view?
the introduction of information necessary for the reader's understanding of the situation at the beginning of a story

the perspective from which events are seen, a story is told, or an argument is made
What is point of view?
this describes a character who realizes something by the end of a story and is presumably changed by it.
What is dynamic?
the narrator describes the thoughts and feelings of some or all the characters but is not a character in the story
What is omniscient point of view?
