What does the 9th amendment do for us?

Rights not listed in the constitution does not mean they don't exist. Rights also can't be used against others to disparage their rights.

States that the constitution and the laws of the United States are the supreme law of the land.

Promise to uphold the constitution, and protect democracy. All federal officials.

A proposal or law voted on directly by people instead of representatives

Each state gets 2 for it's senators plus the number of it's representatives

What is the 3rd amendment, and why is it important in modern times?

The right against quartering of soldiers in civilian homes during peacetimes. The reason it's important is it can be argued as a right to domestic privacy, which isn't stated in the constitution.
