SREC stands for Solar Renewable Energy Certificate. For every 1,000 kWh of solar energy produced, the system typically earns 1 SREC, which can be sold for extra income in states with an SREC market.
How does the SREC multiplier work in Maryland & what is the average rate per SREC in Maryland with the multiplier?
In Maryland, qualifying new solar systems can receive a 150% SREC multiplier under the Brighter Tomorrow program, meaning each SREC has 1.5× the compliance value of a standard Maryland SREC for up to 15 years.

The first incentive is the $5,000 state tax credit which is 25% of the system cost capped at $5,000 - the second is the property tax abatement which is 30% of the system cost and it's split up and paid over a 4 year period.
