These are one-celled microorganisms that cannot be seen by the human eye. There are three types: Non-pathogenic, pathogenic, and bloodborne pathogens
What is bacteria?
An agent that prevents or reduces infection by eliminating or decreasing the growth of microorganisms
What is an antiseptic?
These attack human cells reproducing causing cells’ destruction. The common types of this are the flu and herpes simplex.
What are viruses?
The highest level of decontamination and is the most effective level of infection control.
These are caused by pathogenic bacteria or viruses that enter the body, grow and produce toxins causing further harm to the tissues
What is infection?
This is a standard name for disinfectants. Th chemicals (used in the salon) come under the names bactericides, fungicides, & virucides.
