What is the largest geographic feature in Slovakia?

The Carpathian Mountains cover most of Slovakia. They boost the economy because the mountains are a national park, the city of Košice is at their base, and because of their beautiful, vast mountain ranges, they are a popular vacation spot. Because of this, tourists boost the economies of the cities they visit, and the mountain range also provides mineral resources. These resources can be used to keep the country going. Without these resources, the country would collapse.

Why do we study the past?

To learn about ourselves.

I have learned about Slovakia's struggle for independence and how the geography and economy shape the lifestyle.

Their independence is important because it shows how persistent Slovaks are. They had been with various joined empires since 900, and in 1993 they were finally free. The geography and economy helped me learn about what life was/is like, allowing me to understand them better. Without the past I might have never learned about this country!
