Provide food, hiding spots, etc.
What does it mean if you see a shark on the reef?
The reef is healthy!
Is a reef with one kind of animal healthy?
No! biodiversity is good

They are the managers of the reef. Keep populations at a healthy level and reduce disease

What does the algae inside the coral do?
Photosynthesises and makes food for the coral polyps
What animal is a lawnmower or landscaper of the sea?
Parrotfish, blue tang, green sea turtle, etc.
How are hermit crabs and conch connected?
After a conch dies, a hermit crab can use its old shell as a home. Leave shells you find on the beach, just in case!!
What should you never do in fins?
Walk!
What is coral bleaching?
When corals get stressed they kick out the algae that gives them their colour, turning them white
What does it mean if an animal is bright orange on the reef?
Typically means they are poisonous!
