Take some deep breaths, remind yourself you can do it, and stay with your class.

You don’t understand the directions, so you sit there and don't do your work while the rest of your class is working. 

UNEXPECTED: If you don't know what to do it is expected to ask for help.

You don’t want to start your work, but you sit in your chair and play with things on your desk. 

You will lose points, might get a yellow, and you will do your work during your break.

You want attention during a lesson, but you know interrupting will get you in trouble.

You are waiting for a turn on the SmartBoard. Someone else gets called before you, even though you think you were next.  

Small problem. Let the adult handle it, and calm your body.

During a board game, you lose a turn because of the card you picked. You feel upset, scream, and throw the game pieces. 

UNEXPECTED: Losing a turn happens in a game sometimes, if you feel upset you need to take a break.

Take deep breaths to stay calm. If you still feel upset ask an adult to switch seats.

At recess, someone chooses teams and you don’t get picked right away. You roll your eyes but still join when it’s your turn.

EXPECTED, rolling your eyes isn't a great choice but it's important to still play.

You feel like you need to kick and yell because you're frustrated about something. You ask an adult if you can go to 106 until you feel safer. 

106 is the correct place to kick and yell. You will get greens on your chart and you won't lose points.

You get your tray at lunch and think the food looks weird. It isn't something you've seen before.

Remember that I don't have to eat it, I only have to look at it. If I'm hungry after recess I can have a snack from Carter's room.

You notice two students arguing and moving closer to each other. No one is hurt yet, but voices are loud and voices are rising.

Big problem. Get an adult because they are unsafe.

The timer goes off for your break to be over but you're still drawing. When an adult tells you that the timer is going off and they need to put your stuff away. You ask for one more minute.

You will lose points for ignoring the timer and might not get to draw on your next break.

You're in Carter's room, and other kids come in loudly. Their bodies are all over the plac,e and they're being very loud. You feel frustrated and like you want to scream at them. 

You move to another room where it is quieter and get points for ignoring.
