Monica watched as her mom drove up the driveway. Monica panicked. She hurried around her room, picking up piles of clothes that were on the floor, making her bed, and trying to organize her messy room. Monica knew that she had goofed off for too long. She spent her entire afternoon watching television and talking with her friends.
What was Monicas problem?
Monica was supposed to clean her room, but she did not.

John wanted a new video game, but he didn't have the money to buy it right away. He went into the video game store and stood looking at the game. His friend said "Hey John, just take it! No one is looking!" John didn't see anyone, so he took the game and put it under his coat. The store's alarm went off as the boys tried to leave. The store manager aught John and called his mom. John hung his head and said nothing.
How do you think John feels?
Ashamed. He was caught doing something wrong and now he is in trouble.

Terry is going to camp for the first time. In fact, this is the first time he has ever been away from home. His parents told him camp has a big slide that goes into the lake. Terry is worried that he won't make any friends. Terry tells his mom "Are you sure that going to camp is a good idea? I mean what if the food is gross and I don't make any friends?"
How do you think Terry is feeling?
Worried. He isn't sure he will like going to camp.

Billy was shopping at the mall with his mom. He found the newest version of his favorite racing video game. Billy took the game over to his mom and asked, "Mom, can I have this game?". Billy's mom said, "No, save your money and when you have enough, I will bring you back to buy it." After discussing the game for a 10 minutes Billy's mom said, "We are not going to talk about this anymore!"
What is Billy's problem and what do you think Billy's mom is feeling?
He kept asking his mom to buy the game, even after she said, "No.". So now Billy's mom is upset/mad at Billy for not accepting her answer.

Angie practiced all week for the basketball game tryouts. She spent every evening making shots and dribbling the basketball. Tryouts are next week on Monday at 3 PM. Angie knew her basketball skills were good. In fact, Angie knew she had the best 3-point shot of anyone at school.
