Something empathetic like: "I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure that feels horrible. Maybe we can study together. You will do better next time!"

Offer a sincere apology. "I didn't mean to laugh. I'm sorry you had a tough time with that assignment. It was hard! Can I help with anything?" Remember: friends remember how you treat them. It may take time for them to completely forgive you.

Not a friend. Friends spend time together, talk regularly and know a lot about each other.

Is this making a deposit or a withdrawal from the "relationship bank?" Offering to help a classmate work on a homework assignment because you are good at that work.
Deposit. This shows you care; caring is a great way to make a "deposit."

You don't feel like having a lesson on social skills right now. You would rather stay in class and work on school work. How do you appropriately express how you feel?
A polite and respectful response is needed. Something like "I know it is time for Speech, but I would rather stay and work on Math." Understand-sometimes your SLP may be able to offer you a different appointment, but sometimes you may have to keep your scheduled time.
300
You join a conversation and interrupt someone by talking about something completely different than what the group was talking about. How do you fix this?
Admit you made a mistake and offer an apology. "Hey, I'm sorry. I was way off topic. I'll talk to you guys later about it." Remember: interrupting is rude and can make people feel like you don't care about what they have to say.

Sounds like a friend-or at least the start to a friendship if you take the time to work at it.
300
Is this making a deposit or a withdrawal from the "relationship bank?" Interrupting a classmate when he is talking to the guide because you have a question and want an answer now.
Withdrawal. Not only will this make the other student think that you are being rude, it will make the guide feel like you are not using good manners. Being demanding is a big "withdrawal" from the bank.

You missed something your friend said during lunch. Everyone else at the table laughed. From this, what can you assume that you missed? What could you say?
Sounds like you missed a joke. You could ask "Hey. Sounds like I missed a good joke. Will you tell me again?" It's not a big problem if you missed a joke, so remember to be "ok" if the other student doesn't want to repeat it.

A student who is always in your same lessons and that you see every day in class, but you don't know what they like to do in their free time and they have never started a conversation with you. Friend or not?

400
