First- Plato- Plato discussed how Socrates was presenting himself, how HE himself felt about Socrates' death, and how others did as well. He had a  lot of imagery as well.

The prisoners are trapped, so they use their imagination to create their own reality.

Once released into the cave, they see that what they "believed" before was not true and they see the true shadows. 

After coming out of the cave, they then understand the conenction between the sun, the objects, and how things exist. 

Through this process, they were educated on the true reality.

Purpose

What was Plaot's purpose in writing "The Death of Socrates"? What about "Allegory of the Cave"?

- Plato was one of Socrates' best students. He respected Socrates and wanted to carry on his teachings the best that he could. He wanted us to know about Socrates and the way that he accepted his fate. He then wanted to show us how Socrates wanted to teach.
