Define weathering.
The breaking down or dissolving of rocks and minerals on the surface of Earth
Define deposition.
The laying down of soil or rocks
What is an igneous rock?
cooled magma or lava

Define physical weathering.
When rocks are broken apart or broken down into smaller pieces. The rock has the same properties, but is smaller.
What can deposition cause?
River beds, deltas, sand bars
What is a sedimentary rock?
small bits of mud and sand stuck together
coastlines disappear (homes and natural habitats are destroyed), farmland is harmed
Define chemical weathering.
when minerals in a rock change to new minerals (can change rocks and cause them to break apart)
