What figurative language is used in the following paragraph? I marched onto the fields with my comrades. Our armor glinting in the sun like gold, we set up our makeshift barricades. Our best equivalent to stone walls but still a paltry substitute. Either way it would not matter for the enemy we were facing had up to 1,000,000 soldiers while we had a mesley 240. We had to deal with the fact that we were the losing side. We saw the enemy march on the field. They reminded me of the tales of dragons I heard as a child. They were both strong and large and held with them an air of incomprehensible fear. Their collective shadow fell and writhed on the ground looking like a giant man curled up and dead. Lucky fool, he would not have to witness what comes next. All I heard before the battle was a bang, and then I fought my mind which was on auto pilot. Stab, swing, smash. I felt the bones crunch under my sword. I felt alive and terrified. My whole being was burning and withering, but then I saw a man in black armor charge up. He side stepped my sword and flicked up his own right into my chest and as I died I felt one thought emanate throughout my being - “Why?”.
simile, metaphor, personification, hyperbole, alliteration, onomatopoeia
