NO! Your restated claim should not include any specific details stated in your body paragraphs because your summary of main points will address it.

400

Does the evidence support the claim? Why or why not?

The theme "things are not always as they appear" is evident in Chapter 12 when the girls face the Nagual. On page 191 it says, "I reached over to block Pita's sight with my hands, but she pushed me away and stood staring at the gore before without so much as a single tear in her eye." This shows that things are not always as they appear because Pita is not scared anymore.

500

Correct the reasoning:

The theme "anything is possible when people work together," is evident in Chapter 12 when the girls defeat the Nagual. In the text on page 189 it says, "He sat up and began to retreat, crawling on hands and knees to the far end of the cave to get away from us, and so we kept singing." This shows that the nagual was crawling away from the girls.

This shows that the power of the sisters working together caused the Nagual such intense distress that he felt like he needed to escape from them. Before they started working together to defeat him, it was almost certain they would die, but because anything is possible when people work together, the girls were able to survive and take down the Nagual.
