Negotiations with the U.S. began to seek peace between Israel and its neighbors. The Egyptian President Anwar Sadat and the Israeli Prime Minister Menachem Begin met with U.S President Carter in secret. 

After 12 days of negotiations they reached an agreement and called it "The Camp David Accords".
