What did God Create on day 1?

Light

100

What is a GALAXY?

A massive Collection of gas, dust, and billions of stars and solar systems that are all held together by gravity.

100

Chris Hadfield

Was commander of the ISS

has been on 2 space missions

installed Canadarm 2 on the ISS

First person to space walk

100

Space Farming

invented to be able to grow plants in outer space on the ISS

100

What degree is our Earth tilted at?

23.5 Degrees

200

What did God create on day 2?

Sky

200

What is the definition of a Universe?

Is everything we can touch, feel, sense measure and detect.

200

Roberta Bondar

First Canadian Female to go to space and first neurologist in space.

loves photography

200

Hubble Space Telescope

The Hubble Space Telescope is a telescope in outer space meant to find galaxies and the planets in our solar system.

Why do we have seasons?

Seasons happen due to the Earths position to the sun depending on where the Earth is in its orbit around the sun. It takes the Earth 365 days to orbit around the sun. As the earth orbits around the sun, certain parts of the Earth receive more direct sunlight.

300

What did God create on day 3?

Dry land, seas, plants and trees

300

What is the order of the planets in our solar system

Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune

300

Guy Laliberte

First Canadian space tourist who went up to space to raise awareness of accessibility of water on Earth.

300

Dextre

Robot that is connected to the Canadarm and is designed to fix the ISS

300

Why do we have days and nights?

The earth does one full rotation every 24hrs. Places near the equator will get sunlight for close to 12hrs of the day. Depending on the time of year you get more or less sun light closer to the poles because the Earth is tilted.

400

What did God create on day 4

Sun, moon and stars

400

What is the difference between a Terrestrial and Gas planet?

Terrestrial planet is planet made of rock where a gas planet it made of gas.

400

Bjarni Tryggvason

Was on the first Canadian mission up to space

400

David Dunlap Observatory

An observatory used to explore outer space. Was used to find the first black hole!

400

What are the 3 types of Astroids and

What is the difference between Comet, Meteor and Meteorite?

Carbon, Stoney, Metallic

Comet- space object flying in outer space, has a long tail made of gas and dust.

Meteor- space object entering the atmosphere (shooting star)

Meteorite- space object landing on earth

500

What did God create on days 5 and 6?

Day 5: creatures of the sea and could fly

Day 6: human and land animals

500

What are the 3 main things needed to survive in space and how do astronauts get them?

Water- is in bottles and they drink them by eating the balls of water

Oxygen- Oxygen is given in the ISS as well as tanks in their space suits

Rest- They are strapped to the wall so they don't float around.

Canadarm

The Canadarm is used on the space shuttle to transfer cargo and release satellites, and keep astronauts from floating away when working on the outside of the space shuttle.
