PRONUNCIATION - short words, stress, weak forms, linking, elision, etc. 

In speaking, native speakers tend to cut some words or use contractions. They do that for emphasis or just because of the informal context. Example: 

if someone says, “I will do it” they might be putting more emphasis on the word ‘will’. But if they say, “I’ll do it” they put more emphasis on the verb ‘do’.

When I was a child... I had the wrong idea that "English was difficult" and I didn´t like it at all.

Then, I decided I had to learn English if I wanted my mum to be proud of me ... = I have an objective / a clear aim.

As I was learning the language and noticing that I was able to understand it easily, and my marks were improving, I discovered that I had the wrong picture. English wasn't that bad, and it wasn't that difficult. In fact, it was very easy for me. I was able to get by and do well without even having to study it, I had discovered a new passion!

Of course, it was not all plain sailing. Then I grew up, became independent, got sick, had various problems to deal with and that meant I had to stop studying the language for quite a long time. Lack of practice made me get stuck again. As a result, the blues came and again I felt like a child again, without that vision.

They criticised me, they were hard on me, I felt so bad that I thought I had lost that power I had as a child. It was then that I understood that I had to reencounter myself again with that vision. The goal was no longer to please my mother, but to better myself. So, with a new and firm vision, I started to practice, study and regain my strength. I put into practice all the tips for speaking fluently, I am in continuous contact with the language, and I regained my confidence.
