What is Modification?
Attends to students' affective needs for acceptance, respect, affiliation, contribution, challenge, and support.
What is a positive environment?
Is a process used to try to solve a child's behavioral problems.
What is a Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA)?
Children with disabilities, including eligible learning and thinking differences, have the right to free and appropriate public education.
FAPE
Assumptions, expectations, and beliefs that guide our behavior and interactions with others.
What are mindsets?
Legally binding document for children with disabilties to receive special education. Has the child's educational goals, academic challenges, and strengths. Describes how the child is currently doing academically.
What is an IEP?
A process for teaching acceptable behaviors rather than a process of intimidation and humiliation.
What is Discipline?
A set of accommodations, or changes in the classroom environment, to help the child follow the regular curriculum.
What is a 504 Plan?
Not a particular set of strategies, but a way of thinking about teaching and learning.
