Describe the battle of the Alamo in detail.

The Battle of the Alamo occurred in 1836. The President of Mexico brought an army into Texas to try and end the revolt. On March 6th, the Mexican army stormed the Alamo (a walled fortress) and fighting followed. All of the settlers defending the Alamo were killed, including two famous men of the frontier- Davy Crockett & James Bowie. Around 600 Mexican soldiers were killed/wounded.
