No. An appointment can only make 12 hrs prior to the appointment time. If a student want to get an appointment on the same day, it would be a drop in, which depending on the tutors' availability.

What is Accountability Groups?
It's a program that offer small study group to collaborate, set academic goals, and share effective study strategies. With guidance from SSC staff and encouragement from fellow group members, students practice productive study habits and support one another throughout the learning process.

Are there virtual drop in for WC/CL service?
Yes for WC and no for CL. But if a student request for CL, we will have flexibility on that.
Does Peer Tutoring take appointments?
No. It's 100% drop in base. However, one should check the schedule on the website for a specific course.
How does PLTL different from SI
PLTL is mostly student lead, which means that the tutor prep the material with the subject. SI is depending on the course and has a stronger tie/tailor to the professor and the course itself. If a course offers a SI section, it will say on the syllabus. If you are a student of a SI course, you are automatically qualified to join the SI. SI also offers non-STEM subject like ACCT and ECON.
What is the group size of Accountability Groups and how often do they meet?
It's a small group of 6-8 students that meets weekly for 80 minutes
What SSC service is done in groups instead of one on one?
SI, PLTL, and Accountability Group.
Are there group appointment for the virtual appointment?
No. Group appointment can only be schedule in person on Accudemia
How is peer tutoring different from PLTL?
Peer tutoring is one on one appointment and PLTL is a semester long study group. Peer tutoring is better for study who is having quick homework problem or questions to check before the exam. PLTL is a semester long commitment, which is better for the students seeking a consistent study group. However, the student will need to sign up before the deadline and some popular course do require to enter a ruffle.
What is the approximate student-tutor ratio for PLTL?
Sessions meet once a week for 1.5 hours with a group of up to eight students and one leader.
What are the difference between Academic Success Coaching and Accountability Groups?
Academic Success Coaching is one time one-on-one appointment (appointment made through Accudemia). It's a best fit for the student who seeks academic support and are not sure where to start. The professional staff will help the student through pointing out the resource one need. Accountability Groups are registration based and semester long. The goals of Accountability Groups are practice productive study habits and encourage each other along the way.Best for the students who are looking for study group and increase the productivity.
If a student is interested in becoming a SSC staff, what information you can give?
SSC recruits the staffs every semester and upload the job post on Handshake. Usually before mid semester around Feb or Oct. The selection process varies depending on each department (ex. for Comm Lab you make a presentation and for PLTL you'll take a subject test). You can also encourage student to participate in SSC hiring fair to get more information
What is the maximum appointment a student can make in a week

T/F: the student will be able to receive help on 4000 level course
No. The majority of the subjects in peer tutoring are level 1000 and 2000. There are a few level 3000, but one should check the course on the website before drop in.
For SI, can student join the session if he professor isn’t supported, but the course the student taking is supported?
As long as you are enrolled in the course, you are able to attend any SI Session as your schedule permits! If you attend an SI Session for another professor, that SI Session may be covering different material than what your professor has covered, so make sure to ask questions!
