SSWers use this type of research to collect, analyze, and use information to answer questions about projects, policies, and programs, particularly about their effectiveness and efficiency.
What is program evaluation?
This formal assessment provides an overview of a particular topic or problem by summarizing and explaining the most significant sources in the field
What is a literature review?
When researchers maintain the privacy of their subjects, it is called this
What is confidentiality?
This is the variable being manipulated by the researcher and causes the other to change. Examples include interventions, programs, practices (e.g., mindfulness, SEL, trauma-informed, CBITS, play therapy)
What is an independent variable?
This evidence-based intervention uses interactive activities (i.e. toys, games, drawing, role play) to help students communicate their feelings; engages the natural language of students
What is play therapy?
When SSWers use descriptive statements from interviews and written documents, it is called this type of research
What is qualitative research?
This list of sources provides readers with a brief explanation of why each source is credible and relevant to the topic
What is an annotated bibliography?
This level of IRB review is for research that is not generalizable and does not collect identifiable information. Examples include program reviews and oral history

Sources of an annotated bibliography are arranged this way so they will be easy to locate; it's easy as 1, 2, 3
What is alphabetically (A, B, C)?
A comprehensive evaluation process conducted by an Institutional Review Board (IRB) to assess research studies involving human subjects that present more than minimal risk. Examples include interventions that involve physical or emotional discomfort & studies with deception of participants

What is Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)?
SSWers employ this type of research to measure the response of an individual or a group of individuals to an intervention or the withdrawal of that intervention
What is single-subject design research?
Rather than being separated from each other, sources in literature reviews are integrated into these based on the progression of the topical overview
What are paragraphs?
A procedure through which certain kinds of research may be reviewed and approved without convening a meeting of the IRB. Examples include studies that collect identifiable information through surveys and interviews
What is expeditated review?

SSWers may use this type of research via Critical Service Learning (CSL) to simultaneously investigate and solve an issue
What is action research?
A key component of the literature review is do this to sources rather than merely list or summarize them
What is synthesize?
This level of review is reserved for research with subjects not greater than minimal risk. Examples include research with de-identified records and anonymous surveys
What is exempt review?
When all measures of an assessment are equal, it represents this
What is a normal distribution of data?
This evidence-based practice includes a formal written document that outlines therapeutic approaches to reinforce desired behaviors
