They are kissing the Blarney Stone. It is 5 miles long! According to legend, kissing the stone endows the kisser with the gift of the gab (great eloquence or skill at flattery. Its hard though. Lets watch a quick video!
Kissing the Blarney Stone is difficult because you must lie on your back and lean backward, nearly upside down, into a narrow gap at the top of Blarney Castle to reach the stone. The stone is set into the parapet wall 85 feet above the ground, requiring visitors to trust handrails and staff while dangling over a drop.
