Gasoline powered vehicles were invented over 130 years ago. The first American made gas-powered vehicle was the Model T, invented by Henry Ford in 1908. The Model T could hold 10 gallons of gas which allowed it to travel around 200 miles. Its cruising speed was between 35 and 40 miles per hour and its maximum speed was 45 mph.
