Students must be monitored during all breaks until all testing is completed. This keeps the testing environment secure.
This must be posted in a location visible to students AFTER it is read to the class.

Scenario: Bobby finished his math test, but decides to keep one of his pieces of used scratch paper to finish a drawing he started during the test. Mr. Math allows this and does not turn in the scratch paper with his testing tub. This is a testing irregularity.

CTCs will do multiple checks the ensure accommodations are provided appropriately, however, we need your support. If both teachers and CTCs check, there is less chance of testing irregularities.
This is a procedure we follow at Adolphus that helps prepare for a stress-free start. It should be done the day BEFORE testing and CORE team will use a handy checklist to ensure this procedure is completed.

Again, we (teachers & CTCs) must work together to make sure all students receive everything they need to be successful. When signing out materials, always check your tub and the room accommodations page to make sure all materials have been provided.
Scenario: Keri has several different supplemental aides and manipulatives to use on her math test, but as you are monitoring, you notice that she is not using any of them. What should you do?

In the weeks leading up to testing, encourage students practice using their supplemental aides and manipulatives (even during STAAR camp). This will help them become comfortable and are more likely to use them on test day. Unfortunately, on testing day, we cannot provide reminders.
Whether your grade level is testing or not, is essential to do this on testing days to ensure all students have a suitable testing environment.
