When is the seal broken on the STAAR test booklets?
The student breaks the seal of their own test booklet on the day that test subject is tested, once the proctor tells them to.

What are staff (proctors, relief proctors, hallway monitors) required to do with technology before / during testing?
-Turn in all electronics (cell phones, computers, tablets) to testing coordinator when picking up testing materials -Leave personal electronics turned off in your car if you do not want to turn them in -No use of electronics at all during the testing session (even on a break ... do not use electronics) -No electronics on in school common areas during testing (workroom, hallways, cafeteria)

When does the four hour testing period begin for students?
After the proctor finishes reading the directions. *Students with the extended time accommodation have three extra hours (7 hours total) *All bubbling MUST be finished before the time is up (no extra time to finish bubbling)

How will you know which testing accommodations students in your testing group are allowed to have?
It will be on the directions provided to you with your testing materials. You can find this information on: -Student accommodation sheets (including in testing material box) -Rosters (included in testing material box) -Student IEPs *There will be a special training coming in March on testing accommodations and oral administration rules.*

What happens if a student arrives late to your testing room?
The proctor will read the directions to that student and begin that student's 4-hour testing period when the directions have been read. (All students get 4 hours to take the test. Students with "extended time" as an accommodation get an additional 3 hours.)

Explain the procedures for a lunch break for students who are allowed extended time on their STAAR test.
After the four hour period is over, students will be escorted to pick up their lunches. (The time clock is stopped at this point for a lunch break.) Proctors must pick up and secure student testing materials (answer documents and test booklets) while students eat lunch. Students must eat their lunch silently and they must be separated from other students who have already finished testing. After the lunch break is over, students can resume their test with three additional hours. Proctors need to make a note on the seating chart of when the time was stopped and re-started.

-Scan student answer documents to be sure they bubbled in all the answer documents (If they haven't, simply say "be sure you have bubbled in all of your answers" ... IF there is still time) -Put answer documents in alphabetical order -Put test booklets in numerical order by 9-digit number -Bubble in the "S" code (for "score") on the student's answer document -Note the time the student finished on the seating chart -Pick up all reference materials (formula charts, etc.), scrap paper, pencils, sharpeners, highlighters, erasers, etc. -Return ALL materials (including dictionaries) to the testing coordinator
