How do you request for Time-Off during the Summer?

eMail Cristina and Tyler the dates you are requesting for Time-Off. Cristina or Tyler will respond to that request with approval or denial.

What should you wear to camp as your uniform? Bonus 100 Points if you can name what you should wear to camp on Fridays.

Coaches should wear any shirt provided to them that has "Coach" written on the front or back of their shirt.


Bonus: Coaches may dress in accordance to the weekly theme.

If a group is outside playing a game, and one camper asks to go use the bathroom or get water, how should a coach respond to ensure their Co-Coach stays in a floating 10-15:1 ratio?

Ask the whole group if they need to use the restroom / get water. Then, take the half of campers with you that need those instead of just the one camper who asked.

What steps should a Coach take to make sure they have all of their campers when transitioning from one place at camp to the next?

Conduct a Face Count:

1) Line campers up

2) Using the count Coaches got when they did attendance at the beginning of their shift, count through the line matching the name on a roster to the face of a camper in line.

3) Ensure the count they get when counting the line matches what the count on the roster.

What does "Point of View" mean in the context of a coach watching over their group during activities?

When watching your campers, position yourself in a way that gives you a wide Point of View of the activity area that they are in.

What is Next Level Kidz' dating policy?

If a relationship creates conflict of interest for the Coaches involved and their ability to fulfill their duties as a Camp Counselor, the Coaches involved may be reassigned or be terminated from employment.

When do you get paid for your time at Camp?

Coaches are paid Bi-Weekly, every other Friday.

Our workweek for payroll calculations is Sunday through Saturday. If a bank holiday falls on a payday, team members will receive their payroll check on the last workday prior to the holiday.

What is the "Rule of Three" for keeping Coaches and Campers safe?

Always ensure that when you are in an area with another camper, that one of the following ratios are maintained:

At least 2 Campers, 1 Coach

2 Coaches, 1 Camper

What steps should a coach take if they believe a camper needs First Aid for Minor Injuries? (Band-Aid for Small Cuts / Scrapes / Abrasions or Ice-Pack for Bumps / Bruises)

1) Walkie to Leadership informing them the situation.
2) Leadership will tell the Coach where to send the camper for First-Aid care.

When can you use your Cell Phone at camp or need a break?

Coaches may request to a Leadership Team person during any part of their shift if they need to use their cell-phone to respond to or send out messages that are urgent OR are in need of a break from their group.

If that Leadership Team member can find a solution for them to be able to take that break or to use their cell-phone, time will be provided.

What is Next Level Kidz' Drug, Alcohol, and Tobacco Policy?

All Coaches must be free of any involvement with alcohol and/or drugs that adversely
affect the workplace or their work environment.

Failure to do so above may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

What steps should a coach take if they believe a camper needs First Aid for Major Injuries? (All Head Traumas, Camper Unable to Relocate Themselves After Injury, Lacerations)

1) Do not move the camper from where they were injured. 

2) Walkie to Leadership explaining the situation, defining this is a major injury.

3) One Coach should gather the rest of your group away from that camper and either continue the game they were playing or play a different game away from the injured camper. The other Coach should stay with the injured camper until Leadership arrives to take over.

What should you do if the phone rings in either Building 1 or Building 2?

Answer the phone, thank them for calling, and receive the person's question. Ask for them to take a brief hold and request a member of Leadership over Walkie-Talkie to continue the conversation.

When is it appropriate to post a picture of yourself at camp, with campers, on Social Media?

Never.

In accordance with Next Level Kidz' Cell Phone policy, Coaches should not have their phone out during their shift - Especially to take pictures of themselves with our without campers.

What are the appropriate steps a Coach should take when transitioning their group from one area to another at Camp?

  1. Always have campers leave space as they found it. Ensure they are picking up any trash or other materials left behind and/or cleaning up the space.
  2. Line your campers up and perform a face-count
  3. Coaches cap off the line front and back, then begin moving their group to the next area
  4. When at the next area, perform another face count confirming you still have everyone in your group.
