Scenario: Second week of TOX, already had behavioral incidents during the first week. During choice play, participants threw a ball on the ceiling and also knocked down an EXIT sign in the room.   Today is Wednesday and you just arrive to program and trying to figure out what program material you should pull out for choice play. What do you do?

Scenario: Your group is waiting for the bus to pick you up for a field trip, but it is running 30 minutes behind. You have one participant panicking because they are very strict about time, another one needs to go to the bathroom every second, and another participant is playing fight with their friends. What is priority to handle first? How is your attitude? 

Attitude: stay poised and calm. Showing irritation not only does not help yourself, but participants will pick up on it.

Keep the group engaged with back pocket games/board game bin.

Allow frequent bathroom breaks.

Reassure participants they will get back safely and as soon as possible.

Scenario: You are in the gym with 3rd-5th graders are about to play backboard dodgeball. You go over the rules while your co-counselor is setting up for the game. Once rules are over you split the teams into two groups. As the game is going on you see that three of the kids are sitting out because they got hit with a dodgeball, four of the kids are arguing about the teams cheating, and one is crying because they got out.
