Why don't we allow pencil to be used on pottery?
We use felt pens instead. They disappear completely in firing.
What must be worn when dremeling an item, or using the sand stone?
Safety glasses.
What is the duration of a birthday party?

First Friday and third Thursday for paint and prosecco.
Clay courses run during school time over a 6 week period.
Make and paint workshops at different times throughout the year.
What is the duration of a hen party?

Explain the lace technique
Paint 2 layers.
Wrap lace around, and paint a 3rd layer in the same colour.
Let it dry and then paint 3 layers of the top contrasting/complementary colour.
Peel the lace off as soon as the painting is finished.
Why do we WhatsApp video the kiln settings?
The cone 5 or 6 would cause all the earthenware clay to melt and damage the kiln and equipment.

Why remove the lace/string/stickers immediately after painting?
If left, and the paint dries completely, the lace/string/stickers will pull the paint away, leaving a less defined pattern finish.
What is used when loading speciality glazes into the kiln, and why?
'Cookie' tiles
It means that if a glaze runs it won't drip on to the kiln shelf.
Can they bring food to a birthday party?

Why do you paint a 3rd layer of the same base colour on string and lace?
It seals the string/lace to the painted surface and prevents the next colour bleeding through.
