When having a conversation with campers or other staff members, it is important to practice this while they are speaking. It shows respect for what the person is talking about and tells them that you are a safe and caring person to share with.

The type of praise we use when we want to acknowledge a camper for a specific achievement or behavior- it is specific, describes what the camper did or said, and says the name of the quality they exhibited.

This is a way to bring closure, open discussion, and togetherness after conflict within a group. That way, the blame is not on one person and its intent is not negative, but rather focused on re-building a community.
