What do you do if the teacher needs your attention?

  • The teacher will call out something to get your attention. Normally the students will respond with a comment or sound back.

What are things we do when in the cafeteria?

  • Lunch buyers head to the lunch line, lunch bringers head to the tables
  • Voices are off until all buyers have received their lunch
  • Make sure to get all items the first time.
  • Eat and quietly talk with friends next to you.
  • When finished, clean your area. Do not make a mess!

What do I do when I need to use the restroom?

Go to the door and wait. Your teacher will nod at you to let you know you can go to the restroom. Turn on the light for boy or girl. Turn off the light when you return.

One boy and one girl out at a time.

You can only go during your work time or small group time.

What do you do if you need a pencil? 

  • Put your pencil in the ”dull” cup
  • Take a pencil from the “Sharp” cup
  • Walk quietly back to your seat
  • You do not have to ask to get a pencil
  • Bring a pencil with you to class to be ready

What do I do after earning a blue ribbon in Study Island.


Show me your blue ribbon but do not interrupt small group to do this. You may hold it up without saying it out loud.

Place a sticker on the study island chart. 

After 5 stickers, you receive a pieces of candy or sticker. 

Receive dojo points.

What do you do to earn classroom tickets? 

  • Following directions and transitioning quickly/quietly
  • Participating in class (raising hand to give input, asking questions)
  • Being helpful, good listening skills, etc. Can you think of anymore?

What are some things we do at Recess? 

What are some things we do NOT do at recess? 

  • Place personal belongings on our class line.
  • Be inclusive, take turns, stay alert, and play safely.
  • Listen for the whistle. Walk to line up on the class line.
  • Make sure you have all personal belongings.
  • Respect playground equipment, follow rules of games, have fun!
  • The teacher decides when we go outside. We will not go outside if it is super wet, raining, or cold. You might see other classes going out but I would like for you to respect my decision.

What do we do when we pack up at the end of the day?

Car riders will pack up when entering the room.

Bus Riders will wait at their desk until Mrs. Stamey calls them to pack up. 

All will plug up their iPads, and clean up around their desk.

How do we walk in the hallway?

Quietly in a straight line. We should not be side by side. 

We walk at a good pace, no running or skipping. Stay in line with each other.

What are somethings you shouldn't do? (There is one really important thing to not do!) 


Stay on task. You must use headphones during Exact path time. 

Do not get up and walk around the room. 

Do not ask your teacher for help until you have asked a neighbor.

What do I do when I unpack in the morning? (Hint: There is a chart in the classroom)

  • Unpack and follow morning procedures chart
  • Take out needed materials (black folder) and put belongings in cubby
  • Turn in anything you need (transportation, ice cream money, forms, etc.)

How do we act when we are in our special classes?

- You should treat your special teachers the same way you treat your regular classroom teachers. 


- Follow the expectations and procedures that each teacher has taught you. 

- If you have issues with a peer during a specials class, you should notify the teacher of that class. It is important for those problems to be handled then rather than later later lunch and recess by your regular classroom teachers. If the situation is not resolved then you should tell another adult.

What do you do if you need to get water?

  • Highly encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle to school every day.
  • Fill up water bottle before you enter class in the morning and refill at lunch if needed
  • Keep water bottles on the counter. 
  • If you forget your water bottle, go to water fountain at appropriate time (during lunch, on the way back to class from recess, when done with independent work)
  • You can ask the same way you do for the restroom

Where can you find classroom supplies and what do you do if you need them?

The classroom supplies are found in the locker. You do not have to ask for permission to get these supplies. You should get classroom supplies quickly and quietly. 

Normally if we all need supplies, Mrs. Stamey will get them out and place them on the table.

What are some ways you can lose Dojo points?

Disrespect, Hallway Misbehavior, Horse playing, Interrupting Learning, Lunchroom Misbehavior, Messy Desk, Off Task, Playground Misbehavior, Restroom after Classroom Break, Restroom Misbehavior, Sleeping in Class, iPad Procedures.

What do I do if I have a question? 

  • Raise your hand where you are! The teacher will come to you or call on you to ask your question.
  • Mrs. Stamey's Pet Peeve: Being followed around the room and/or surrounded by students asking questions at the same time. This is a no-no!
  • Monitor your question - Can this be answered by a peer? Can you exercise perseverance and figure it out on your own? Can you skip over a more difficult task and come back to it later?

How should you sit on the carpet?

Sit criss-cross on carpet spot with materials in your lap. DO NOT LAY DOWN.

Stay on your bottom, don’t mess with peers around you, participate often, don’t play with supplies

You will lose supplies or go back to desk if you don’t follow expectations

What do you do with your snack?

  • Our snack time will happen around 9:00 am
  • You may bring a “clean” snack like crackers, pretzels, fruit snacks, cheese or meat stick, banana, etc. No candy. 
  • Stay seated while eating and keep working.
  • When finished, make sure trash gets thrown away and not placed in your desk
  • Your snack should be in your desk after unpacking!
