What are informal assessments?

The first of the month the children transitioning are identified. During the faculty meeting teachers come together to discuss current development and a meeting occurs with the parent either before or after the faculty meeting but prior to the transition. The last two weeks of the month, the child transitions into the new classroom.

Classroom self-assessment tool completed in the fall and spring that addresses the quality of the classroom environment and staff/child interactions for each group of children. Areas are selected for the development of a classroom action plan.

-Complete and Score Screenings -If results fall in the CONCERN range, notify ELC/ESS to discuss next steps and how to best share results with the family. Provide the family with a copy of the screening/s and refer them to their pediatrician to discuss results and additional referral resources in the community. If the child is enrolled in EHS/HS, the ELC/ESS notifies the ESS & FSS of the results to begin the appropriate EHS/HS referral process. Additionally, if ASQ-SE results indicate a concern, ELC/ESS contacts the ECMH statewide referral resource for classroom-level support. -If results fall in the MONITOR range, provide the results to the family with ASQ:3 or ASQ-SE Parent Activity handouts, plan individualized experiences on lesson plans, and rescreen in 2 weeks to determine if a referral is warranted.
