What are Client Alerts?
This training allows staff to understand that grief, stress, trauma, honor, pride, loss and deep attachment are all powerful currents potentially running through each client at any given moment. It is the framework that allows clinicians to speak with authority about the psychological injuries most closely associated with veterans.
What is Military Cultural Competence.
Completed monthly for every month the client is in treatment and includes documentation of symptoms and/or problems requiring ongoing service.
What is the Treatment Plan Review?
Hypothesizes that people's emotions, behaviors, and physiology are influenced by their perceptions of events.
What is the Cognitive Model (within CBT)?
Connects to the community, forms partnerships with the Department of Veteran's Affairs, military agencies, and other local connections, as well as, has a community presence by participating in local events and coalitions.
Who is the Outreach Coordinator?
Individual Therapy, Couples Therapy, Family Therapy, Child/Adolescent Therapy, Group Therapy, Parent Consultation, Case Management, Psychoeducational Workshops/Trainings, and Veteran Community Outreach.
What are services provided by the Steven A. Cohen Military Family Clinic?

What is a Veteran?
Completed at each therapeutic encounter for client's designated Moderate to High Risk.
What is the CSSRS-Since Last Encounter
Teaches individuals to gradually approach their trauma-related memories, feelings and situations. They presumably learn that trauma-related memories and cues are not dangerous and do not need to be avoided.
What is Prolonged Exposure?
Have adequate connectivity; computer, tablet, or smartphone access; privacy; clients who are not suicidal. State licensing laws must be followed. Document sharing must be done through a secure platform. CARF Behavioral Health Standards must be followed.
This service is offered to parents to reduce barriers to treatment participation. Parents must be present in building and have signed an agreement prior to services being rendered.

Embodies strong leadership qualities and is ultimately responsible for the whole clinic, including:

What is a Safety Plan?
An important component of all Evidenced Based Practices and believed by most to be vital for therapeutic change.
What is the therapeutic alliance (relationship between therapist and client)?
This is completed soon after intake (1st or 2nd session). It is an opportunity to provide anonymous feedback on the client's perceptions of the clinic and their experiences. It is not administered by the clinician.
What is the Client Experience Survey (CES)?
Brief but must reflect the client's need for treatment in their own words, have measurable and time limited goals reflective of the diagnoses, and methods for achieving stated goals. These are completed concurrently in session with the client's input and feedback.
