What time does camp start and end each day?
Starts at 9am, ends at 4pm
AM care is 7:30 am - 9am
PM care is 4:00pm - 5:30pm
What is the buddy system used for?
Bathroom or getting water
Name 2 fun transition activities.
Place and order: line up from tallest to shortest, birthdays
Movement madness: line up and do ten spins, line up and do 5 jumps
Sleeping dragon: You will be the sleeping drago (eyes closed), have one camper be the assistant, taps everyone in the shoulder to gather belongings QUIETLY - point of the game is for campers to clean up quietly

Purple (fairies) 5-6 year olds
Blue (wizards) 6-7 year olds
Green (gnomes) 8-9 year olds
Who crosses the road first when walking to Storybook?
The two younger groups are walking ahead the two older groups
Why are transitions important?
The safety of campers
Gives campers a chance to collect themselves and gather before moving to the next activity
Ensures that you are successfully moving from one activity to the next
What’s the swim ratio for kids with/without life jackets?
Life jacket: 1:8
Without 1:4
Pass swim test: 1:10
What can an LIT do and not do?
they cannot be along with campers (ex. buddy system)
3 different levels (observe, lead transition, lead camp games)
are expected to engage with campers
Who do you talk to when a camper is hurt or misbehaving?
Resolve problem on own, use strategies learned
Reach out to inclusion for ideas or support or a coordinator
If camper is a safety issue to self and other campers, get coordinator right away
If camper is hurt beyond basic first aid, get coordinator right away

When do you get evaluated?
formally during mid term and end of summer evals
whole summer you are getting feedback or check ins
What are the sign-in/out procedures?
On storybook days, camper puts down stuff and other staff is helpign direct camper to go to the bathroom, fill up water bottle and put backpack in wagon
Sign out - one staff is signing out camper and checking for ID from camper pick up list. other staff is helping get camper and gathering their stuff.

Give first and then a statement

How do you manage head counts at Storybook?
Each colour group counsellor has sign in and sign out list for their campers. They should know how many campers they have on their own, and how many they have with the other group.
Counsellors should be doing consitent head counts (ex. when gathering the group always count how many campers you have, and do a roll call if necessary)
When do you involve inclusion or the coordinator?
Coord - same or it is a safety concern
What is the role of floaters on swim days?
assist with swim ratios
coverage for staff meetings
other coordinators come to evaluate our camp on site and off site
