The goal of the Student Unit is to increase student voice. The rational for increasing student voice is to ensure that students have the power to inform, influence and shape reforms, polices and practices that reflect the realities, needs, and solutions of students, as stated by students.

It is important that we involve students in the work of the District and develop them as leaders because we want to authentically engage students as stakeholders and mentor them on how to work collaboratively with other stakeholders. We want to involve students in the work of the District and train them how to partner with adults to create safe, healthy, supportive school cultures and communities.

The Student Unit partners with and utilizes a curriculum created and designed by Wes Hall for each of the mentoring sessions. All of the materials are emailed to the LEAD Villager. The materials include: agendas, powerpoints, student handouts and monthly sign in sheets. The LEAD Villager then emails the materials to their Villager and together they will decided who will facilitate each section of the agenda?
