What is a code blue?
Patients attempting to build false relationships to blackmail staff into assisting them
What is grooming?
Working with a buddy RN at all times, ensuring the buddy is present for all tasks and procedures
What is direct supervision?
Wearing a uniform, enclosed shoes and neat/tidy hair
What is dress/uniform policy?
Performing below satisfactory standard
What is a 2?
The code for officer requiring assistance? (eg. prisoners fighting) that is normally followed by a code blue
What is a code yellow?
Implementing strategies to avoid sharing personal information and shutting down inappropriate behaviour
What are boundaries?
Not coming to placement if I am unwell/unable to fulfil my duties
What is sick leave?
Personal book that I record daily achievements that my buddy RN signs at the end of shift
What is a student handover book?
Performing at a proficient standard
What is a 4?
A personal item that under no circumstances can be brought into a correctional centre, and that will be confiscated for up to 8 months if taken inside
What is a mobile phone?
Notifying the NUM and CDF of any existing relationships with patient at your centre
What is a conflict of interest?
Only performing tasks that I am competent and confident
What is my scope of practice?
Identified outcomes for myself that I have brought with me today to track my progress and achieve desired outcomes throughout my placement
