Problem solving is the process of finding solutions to difficult and complex issues.

One way to become an effective communicator is to make sure when someone is talking to you, you don't think about what you are going to say next. Instead, you just take it in naturally and  when the speaker is  done, the response will come naturally to you.

He needs to try evaluating each option against another, kings court style. He can also try and consult different people and get their bias-free opinions. Once he has all the answers, he can evaluate the options one more time and make a final decision.

Algorithmic problems are problems that require a step by step process to solve it such as a recipe!

Heuristic problems are where you figure out the best solution based on what you know, such as finding something you lost!

Majority of the kids drew the pilot and firefighter as a man while the teacher and the nurse as a woman. It shows us how we start to develop stereotypes from a young age.

  1. Accommodating: You do not care, you just let them win.

  2. Avoiding: You just walk away and ignore it.

  3. Compromising: You make sure both parties are giving up on something to resolve the issue.

  4. Competing: You keep fighting your side of the story and not give in.

  5. Collaborating: Instead of just one person winning and the other losing, you make sure both parties get what they want.
