    • Rinse dried beef under cold water to remove excess salt. Pat dry then rip up in smaller pieces. Melt butter in pan. Add dried beef. Cook 2-3 minutes until brown. Add flour and mix with dried beef (it will look pretty dry). Add milk (reserve 1/4 cup for later), salt & pepper. Bring to boil. Add remaining milk to thin to your desired likeness. Serve over toast or waffles.

  • 1 pound pork sausage
  • 3 Tbsp flour
  • 2 1/2 cups milk
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • pinch cayenne pepper

  • 2 1/4 cups baking mix (ie Bisquick or equivalent)
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 2 Tbsp butter melted

    1. Prepare 6-8 biscuits according to box or recipe instructions. Once removed from oven brush with melted butter. 

  • Gravy

    1. Heat cast iron skillet to medium-high heat. Brown pork sausage until brown. Color = flavor, so let it develop some crusty brown pieces. 

    2. Once sausage is cooked, reduce heat to medium-low and stir in the flour. Cook, stirring frequently for about 1 minute. 

    3. Slowly stir in the 2 1/2 cups of milk and bring to a simmer. Add in salt, pepper, and cayenne. 

    4. Cook, stirring frequently until thickened. If needed, stir in a little bit more milk to get it to the consistency you desire. 

    5. Serve over biscuits and enjoy!
