Caring For the Frailes of the Frail

What is the year the first "assisted living" (Sunrise Senior Living) community was created. Before 1981 the was no "senior living" in the united states as we know it. Familes faced the heart-wrenching choice when caring for their frail aging relatives of home care or the sterile, impersonal environment of a traditional nursing home.
