Instruct the guest to look down and pinch right below the cartilage of the nose. Set a timer. Call 9-1-1 if 10 minutes pass and the bleeding has not stopped.

What is a 16 year old guest who IS a member able to do?
Come in alone, as well as use guest passes on family and friends.

Apply PPE, pack with gauze, and then apply HARD pressure using gauze, and if possible, apply a pressure bandage once bleeding has subsided.

When securing a spinal victim to a backboard, what part of the body is strapped first?
The chest.
What should you do if a member wants to pay to bring guests in if they have no guest passes/instead of using guest passes?
Charge them the cardholder rate.
What should you do if you suspect a guest has a concussion?
Have them sit down, do not give them food or water, call 911. Keep the lights dim and keep the guest talking, occasionally repeating questions to see if the answers change. Monitor all symptoms and changes in behavior from the time of the incident up until EMS arrives.
When not in the king stand (ex. mid rotation, roving, etc.) you notice a guest attempt to make it to the pool's edge but they're not making much progress. They are panicking and reaching for the wall and struggling to stay above the water, what do you do?
Do an assist by either grabbing them or holding out the tube for them to grab onto.
How deep (in inches) should you be doing chest compressions on a child?
Approximately 2 inches, or 1/3 the depth of the chest.
Demonstrate how to do a spinal in the wading pool.
Call 911. Get on your knees, and if the guest is large enough, place your elbows on their shoulders and hold their head steady until EMS arrives. If they are not, hold their neck steady by placing your hands on either side of the neck, supporting the chin with your pointer fingers, and placing your thumbs against the back of their head.
How many guards must be watching the water if there is 67 people in the water.

A guest begins to have a tonic clonic siezure. What should you do?
Protect the guest's head and make sure their airway stays clear. Other than that, do not restrict the guest's body in any way.
You find a guest submerged at the bottom of the pool with no clear movement in the diving well.
Deep water submerged passive rescue. (2 long whistle blasts, call for 2nd guard crashbag, backboard, pulley system with tube, test breaths, then rapid ex)
The guest you are doing CPR on begins to gasp and sputter irregularly every few seconds, what do you do?
NOTHING. Continue CPR as you were. This is agonal breathing, the guest is NOT conscious, and they likely still have no pulse.
What should you do if you have a spinal victim that is in a life vest? (answer and demonstrate)
You should call for a second guard and have one of you hold their neck and head stable, whilst the second guard works with the guest to get them out of the life jacket. After the guest is free from the life jacket, the guard who freed them must begin the process of reverse vise grip, and the guard who held their head must remove their hands.
If a group of non-members come in that are 16-17 comes and pay with the help of their parents, are the people under 18 allowed to stay alone?
NO. The person who paid is their responsible adult. As non-members, the person paying has signed a waiver, labeling them as the person legally responsible for the children under 18. The person responsible must remain with the kids the entire time.
