This paperwork is emailed to the program coordinator and due after each SI session.
What are sign-in or attendance sheets?
For in-person SI's, one of the first things the SI leader does when they arrive at the SI session room.
What is pass around the sign in sheet?
Grading papers, conducting a class, proctoring exams.
What are NOT the responsibilities of the SI Leader?
Try to engage them in a group activity or game centered on your class material.
What do you do if you have a student who is not participating in the SI?
The 15th of each month.
What is the date time sheets are due?
The first thing an SI leader asks the students to do in an online Zoom session.
What is sign-in in the chat?
Faculty member participating in our program, who requests academic support through SI?
What is an SI faculty?
A method to aid learning students can take with them from class to class regardless of subject.
What is a study skill?
Without this, you will not get paid. This is a record of the hours worked over a month.
What is a time-sheet?
An SI leader who attends and works with the students during class or lab time.
What is an embedded SI leader?
What kind of questions should be asked during sessions, what should maybe be emphasized on test reviews, class lecture clarifications.
What should be talked about during a professor meeting at the start of the semester?
A session with more attendance than a regular SI and longer in duration. More material is covered and the atmosphere is often different than other sessions.
What is a test review session?
A total of 24 hours for a special purpose given to each SI leader for the academic year.
What is sick-time?
Person to contact regarding any questions or problems conducting your SI workshop.
Who is the program coordinator?
Plans their SI sessions, holds SI sessions, turns in paperwork.
What are responsibilities of the SI Leader?
SI LEADERS facilitate learning, while PROFESSORS teach. It is not the job of an SI leader to relecture or grade.
What is the difference between an SI leader and a professor?
For in-person SI's, look at the pamphlet located by the door of your SI session room for safety information. Have the campus police number in your phone. If serious, dial 911.
What do you do if there is an emergency?
Inform the SI coordinator of this the first week of class after discussing with the instructor and students.
What is the weekly schedule for your SI workshop?
A TUTOR works with individual students through question and answer. An SI LEADER facilitates a study group and gets the students to help each other review the material.
What is the difference between a tutor and an SI Leader?
Person to ask specific questions on the class material or special topics to cover in the SI workshop.
Who is the professor?
1 hour long, unless scheduled otherwise.
How long should a session be?
