This process reduces the amount of waste sent to landfills by turning organic material into soil-like matter.
What is composting?
These contain a cheesy meal and can be recycled only if they are free of grease and food residue. (Greasy or dirty parts should be thrown in the trash or composted.)
What are pizza boxes?
A weeklong series of events at the beginning of the semester to welcome students to the Sustainability Hub.
What is Green Week?
You must show proof of completion to choose a FreeSCycle item.
What is the online student sustainability training?
This is the sustainability mascot made of collected plastic waste from a Roski student.
Who is Stan?
This weekly campus event lets students shop for local, organic produce.
What is the USC Farmer’s Market?
These are clear containers often used for drinking on the go and can be recycled when empty and clean.
What are plastic water bottles?
When the Sustainability Hub collects all Ewaste including old batteries, technology, and electronics.
What is E-waste drop off?
This giveaway happens on the last Friday of the month and be can be entered by scanning your ID to enter the Sustainability Hub
What is FreeSCycle Friday?
This is the board where we post different campus events at the Hub.
What is Events Board
These stations across campus help reduce single-use plastic bottle waste.
What are water bottle refill stations?
These beverage containers, often made of a shiny metal, are 100% recyclable and can be transformed into new products repeatedly.
What are aluminum cans?
When the hub fixes skateboards and bikes every last Tuesday of the month.

You get a FreeSCycle prize by entering this hunt
What is bike hunt?

This global event in April celebrates environmental protection and awareness.
What is Earth Day?
This lightweight material often used for packing and takeout containers cannot be recycled and must be placed in the trash.

A local nature spot for the community near the Shrine, commonly hosts green events, and has a cat!
