Explain a solution vs a suspension

  • A solution is a homogeneous mixture where the drug is completely and evenly dissolved in a solvent, resulting in a clear liquid that does not separate.
  • A suspension is a heterogeneous mixture containing solid drug particles that are dispersed in a liquid but not fully dissolved. These particles will settle over time, requiring the mixture to be shaken well before each use to ensure correct dosing.
