Because it shows that you understand how to get to the solution.

In the case of missing work, what is the point penalty and how long do you have to turn in missing work?
For 6th and 7th, it's 10 points per day. For 8th, it's 15 points per day. You have three days to turn it in.
According to your syllabus, how should your homework be presented?
In clear, distinct steps, neat and easy to read, and in a "linear fashion."
What is the benefit of having your textbook at home?
It's there if the wi-fi goes out. Sometimes looking at the hard copy of a book is easier to use than the Chromebook.

3-ring binder, notebook paper, composition notebook, pencils and erasers, colored pencils, highlighters, glue stick, scissors, binder, calculator, Chromebook (and graph paper, ruler, protractor for 7th and 8th)
