What is a conversation?
A talk between 2 or more people where ideas are traded and shared
What are important things that friends can do?
They show kindness, they listen to each other, they are loyal, they trust each other, etc.
What is empathy?
The ability to understand and share the feelings of another.
What is teamwork?
The combined action or effort of a group of people for an outcome.
What are some different relationships most people have in their lives at some point?
Friendships, family, romantic partners, acquaintances
What does this mean?
Conversations are a 2 way street
This means both people are able to talk and share their thoughts
What does being loyal mean?
Giving or showing firm and constant support to a person
How can you tell when someone else is feeling sad or happy, even if they don't say anything?
Their body language
What is compromise?
To have a compromise, both of you must either gain or lose something of equal value
What are good compliments you can give people?
Compliment people on their accomplishments and personality. Try to avoid compliments about people’s physical attributes and things that are out of their control. (ex: “You have pretty eyes”)
What is a conversation hog?
Some people like to only talk and not let anyone else share their thoughts
How can we show kindness to friends?
We can say nice things, share, play with friends, not leave anyone out of things, etc.
How can you tell when someone else is feeling empathetic towards you or someone else?
They might say "I understand"; they might show the same emotional response as the other person, etc.
Why is teamwork important?
You will have to work in teams in school settings, in future job settings, in relationships, etc.
When you're talking to someone you like, how much is too much?
If you’re at school and you have class with someone you like, its okay to talk before and after class. Texting or talking to them every second of class is too much!

Why is support important in a friendship?
Friends like to feel supportive and like their friends are there for them no matter what
Why do you think it's important to try to understand how others are feeling?
It helps us be nicer friends, it helps us see other people's point of views and reasons for what they are doing
What is good sportsmanship?
Win or lose, you must always show respect to your competitors. Even if your competitors are rude to you there is no need to stoop to their level and act as they do

Settle a fight by agreeing to do something you both want to do

You can listen to them talk about what is making them sad or upset; you can say you're there for them; you can say I'm sorry that happened to you; you can say I understand how you must be feeling

After you have known someone for a few weeks or more, and you have been talking to them regularly at school, it is okay to ask for their phone number or add them on social media
